The Siemens SINAMICS S120 is a modern, modular AC frequency converter family.
These systems are built on a common DC bus (DC Link / intermediate circuit).
The infeed unit generates the DC voltage, and this specific Power Block converts this DC voltage back into regulated AC (alternating) current for the motor (Motor Module phase block). Therefore, although it receives DC voltage on the input side, it drives AC servo motors or AC induction motors on the mechanical side.
It is not for old-type brushed DC motors (such as those controlled by Siemens SIMOREG or SINAMICS DCM drives).
